Ansul Plus-Fifty C™ is used to combat fires involving flammable liquids, gases and greases (Class B) including such fires when involved with energized electrical equipment (Class C). Pound for pound, Plus-Fifty C™ is twice as effective in extinguisher applications as carbon dioxide. Specific applications include the protection of commercial food preparation equipment such as fryers, griddles, and range hoods as well as textile machinery.

Plus-Fifty-C™ is a sodium bicarbonate-based substance containg additives to make it free flowing, water repellant, non-abrasive and, when used as a fire extinguishing agent, produce no toxic effects. This agent is colored bluish-white to differentiate it from other dry chemical agents. Post-fire cleanup can be readily accomplished with a vacuum cleaner or a broom and dust pan. Caution: Never mix Plus-Fifty C™ with phosphate-based dry chemicals. A chemical reaction will take place that is harmful to the extinguisher.

The shipping weight of the pails is 54 pounds (24.5 kg) and there are normally 24 containers per pallet.

Note: This extinguishing agent is incompatible with strong acids, monoammonium dihydrogen phosphate (also called “ammonium phosphate”, NH₄H₂PO₄), sodium-potassium alloy (NaK) and/or lithium metal; consult the SDS for details.
